For the first time today, I looked around, and I was truly speechless.

There are so many things in this country that I love—so many people. I admit proudly to being near violently against President Bush, and this morning I woke up to a country that seems to agree with me.

The day before an election that could change the course of our history, more people than I realized are speaking out against how our country is being run. Just flipping through the channels, I'm dazed by the sheer number of people just talking about this election.

Celebrities—Eminem, Green Day, and P. Diddy amongst them—are telling kids to vote or die. That’s a strong message.

Eminem’s video for ‘Mosh’ left me staring at the screen for three minutes after it had ended. I’m not a huge rap fan, but that video makes me want to buy all his records, to reward him for saying what he does, if nothing else. (Download illegally!)

I really don’t even know how to articulate all that I want to, because I’m really just that overwhelmed. Even though I’m not old enough to vote, I have been active politically—starting petitions, joining marches and rallies.

The fact that it seems as though something is happening in our country other than apathy makes everything I’ve done seem worth it.
