allergies of doom. who else here wears contacts? like, all the time? because, honestly, this whole having to wear my glasses thing is making me really unhappy and also nauseous - world, stop spinnninnnngg. random list of things i am thinking about instead of actually, y'know, getting sleep:

• we should go back to worshiping cats. no, seriously, i think the egyptians were on to something, and maybe if we, like, offer the cats tokens of our love in the form of live rodents and tons of catnip, they will go to the white house and torment george bush into being less of an idiot.
  
  
• ooc fic makes me cry. it's one thing if there's a need and explanation, but when you start throwing in, like, boys talking about eternal, gushy love and glitter. well, you've just gone too far. a little glitter can work sometimes, no doubt! but, um, not when it's being showered down upon them as they take their first step as a happily married couple. ow, my spleen.
  
  
• we're this hugely advanced and civilized society, right, and we've figured out how to build skyscrapers and atomic bombs and friggin' ipods, and yet there is still no decongestant that actually, y'know, works.
  
  
• i wish humans were more reliant on body language - or at least more perceptive about it. there's just something really lovely about watching animals interact through body language. there aren't any are you?s or did you mean?s, and there's never any shame in honest affection. if a wolf comes back to its pack, there's no oh we shouldn't really it's not proper moment; the other wolves come up and yelp and lick and just generally show their joy at the one being home. humans are more complicated creatures, sure, i guess, whatever - but affection doesn't have to be complicated when it's something like that, and yet it always is.

yes, this is really the stuff i think about at five in the morning. what the hell, i need help. going to sleep now.

I actually had to give up on my contacts because of my allergies. Ugh. One summer (YEARS ago), I got horrible pink eye THREE times before seeing my eye doctor. Turns out, it was allergy related. (And yes, between each, I got new lenses and a new case and stuff, so there was no cross contamination *g*)

THIS summer, I've had to take Claratin, Tylenol Severe Allergy Sinus and Motrin to be able to make it through the bad days. It SUCKS donkey balls.
