The Day After Tomorrow
I love Movies on Demand.
Just now I watched The Day After Tomorrow and oh, ouch. No matter how contrived things seem towards the beginning, the acting was spot-on and the way it was carried out was ridiculously well done. Jake of my Heart! Girl who was in Phantom of the Opera but whose name I still do not know! Guy who really seems to find all the Awesome Dad roles!
I spent most of the movie curled up on the couched, very close to falling off, and squeezing the life out of a pillow. There were some moments of overdone altruism, but all in all it was an awesome movie and I highly, highly reccommend it!
Oh, my poor New York City--I mean oh poor world. No, no I don't. STRAND! What happened to STRAND?! What about The Met?! Did some of the art survive?
This isn't a very coherant thing with the thinging but the movie WAS GOOD and I'm still kind of emotionally asdfkljweij-ing. I like that word. It's staying.
As a side note--that guy who refused to let go of the Guttenburg Bible was completely awesome and I love him. WHO WOULDN'T PROTECT THE GUTTENBURG BIBLE?!

It must be a thing about Jake films, with me :0P Apart from the fact that I loved Donnie Darko.
"Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have... reproductive organs under those tiny, white pants. That's just what's so illogical, about being a Smurf, you know? I mean, what's the point of living... if you don't have a dick?"
Although there was a CRACKING poster for The Day After Tomorrow when the film came out over here. Cos it came out at the same time as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Afghanistan, didn't it? So they made this poster of the Statue of Liberty as it is on the cover of the day after tomorrow, you know covered in ice and that, and they'd superimposed Daniel Radcliffe's face over the Statue of Liberty lady's face, and it's that bit where he's yelling expecto patronum. Looked WELL cool :0P

Did you ever watch the deleted scenes? The director commented on each and every one of the scenes as to how it was pivotal to understanding the plot. It's funny 'cause it's sad.

It was back in the days when Donnie Darko was a film no-one had even heard of.
Incidentally, it played on Screen 15 in our cinema...:0P
