My sister is an Ugly Betty fan. Like, she made a fuss because she missed the first two minutes of it. My mom used to obsessively follow X-Files, and now she watches CSI every week. My dad...thinks Smallville is quality television, and oh my god, did you know that Spike from Buffy was in one season? Isn't that so cool? I almost didn't recognize him without the scar and the accent and the hair.

I come from a long line, I think. Fandom is in my blood. All rejoice! We need, like, clan tartan for fandom or something. Maybe not tartan, because, uh, encroaching on Scottish tradition may be the last thing we ever do, but SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Ooh, it could be like a hanky code, except without hankies. Or maybe there could be hankies. Who is with me!

Also, I am really bored. Maybe you should distract me before I start writing love letters. Um. Bring on the comment fic? *shifty*

ETA: And, ok, I remember asking this ages ago, but now that there are newer people, I'm having a hard time keeping track. Who minds me flirting with them? Because, really, I flirt. A lot. Hee! We're excessive Ugly Beh-tt-y fans too. That's me saying it in my Ashley Jensen accent. :0P We can't say it any other way. Seriously, I kinda think it's crap, yet me and the mr are stuck to it like glue, as we were to Skins, which is serious amazement on film, but it's all gone now and I don't know how I'm coping, seriously :0( The trouble with British stuff, I find, is that they make too little of it, whereas the trouble with American stuff, half the time, is that they make too much of it, like Lost. Seriously not interested in Lost any more. The third series thing just got me completely out of the loop. And I do wish Ugly Betty'd come to a head. Mind, but then you had Firefly, and they made way to little of that, so...And, you had Red Dwarf, and that just kept on going, so maybe I'm just waffling.

I got a call back from this estate agent cos I had to cancel on her cos of my car incident, half nine in the morning, I'm still in bed, she goes, "HI LUCY, IT'S GEMMA!" really loudly in my ear, I'm like, no idea who you are, love, "I heard something happened to your car! My dad actually owns the first three seasons of Smallville on DVD. I try to convince him that it's all gone to shit since then, but he still occasionally watches. And of course then I try to convince everyone at home to stay on that channel for, oh, just an hour longer. :P Plus my mom owns all six seasons of Gilmore Girls too, so I feel a little better about my obsessive fannishness.

ahaha, I know what you mean. Well, sort of. My parents aren't into anything fandomy, I don't think, but my brothers are huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Star Wars and Star Trek fans (okay, this is going to sound horrible, but I remember, the night Princess Diana died, they interrupted the episode of Star Trek that my brother and I were watching to break the news. You know, obviously. But - okay, BEFORE WE KNEW WHAT IT WAS ABOUT, I'd just like to point that out - I remember my brother got so mad that THEY'D INTERRUPTED STAR TREK!! So.), and then, uh, not as huge but still big LotR fans. We still have this whole bookshelf full of sci-fi-related books in our basement that're my brothers', too. And, might I add, Dungeons & Dragons.
...so huh, I guess it's not so much totally fandomy with me as it is just GEEK. Ah well.

My family is full of dorks, but I'm the only one who's really fandomy-- my mom has some shows she watches regularly, my dad does war games with a group of friends every Thursday and has this internet game he plays, and my brother is a hardcore DDR player who does tourneys and used to live on ddrfreak (http://www.ddrfreak.com), although he has dabbled in the fanfic world (thanks to me, mostly).
