this shit took forever, man. fucking sendspace.

The Tea Party - Triptych
Man, oh, man. What can I say about this two-disc CD that won't make me sound like a twelve year old fangirling Hannah Montana? This band started everything for me, music-wise, years and years and years ago. Everything I love about music, every new band that I listen to and love--all because of these guys. Their sound drives me wild, I don't even think I can properly describe it. Everything is layers, one instrument on top of another on top of another until you really just have to sit there with your eyes closed and listen with everything you have.
They can be exotic, they can be soft, they can be so sexy I want to take off my panties and throw them at the CD player. All in all, they're just amazing, and Jeff's voice is so incredible I...I can't even.

Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope
I blame this obsession entirely on
And always, always there is something in the song that will stop you in your tracks. Whether it be because it's shocking or because it's beautiful or just because that note hits you right where you live, but, yeah, there is nothing bad here.

Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine
All of you have to know by now that I have a deep and unholy love of Fiona Apple. I went to see her over the summer in Central Park, and I swear to God I could watch her perform for the rest of my life. Her music is always beautiful and always real. There's nothing bubble-gum or fake about her--she's all soul and passion, and you can definitely tell that from the way she sings.
There are songs on this album that I've played on loop for days, and somehow I'm still not sick of them and they can still punch me in the gut. Listen to "Parting Gift" and you'll know exactly what I mean. Fiona is just a beautiful, beautiful musician, and I love her like no other. Someone stop me, I'm going to start rhapsodizing about her hair any minute now.

Dirty Pretty Things - Waterloo to Anywhere
Oh, Carl Barat, I love you more than I love water, and that's saying something. You bounced back so prettily after Pete put you through all that shit (OMG PETE, WHY WHY WHY) and now you have a fabulous band and a new CD that is like a 48 minute-long auditory orgasm. Seriously, guys, this album is so fun and sexy and fabulous that I listen to it and I have to take my pants off and dance around like a crazy person.
There are guitar riffs in here that make me clench my fingers and moan, and Carl's voice is so debauched posh boy that I...well, I won't say anything about what it does to me. In conclusion: Carl Barat's Ass.

Lenahan - Brand New Bag
Woops, are my Irish roots showing? Lenahan isn't exactly a popular band in main circles, so I'm not going to put all of the album in the zip file. I want to encourage you all to actually, like, buy their music if you like what you hear. I know the musician in a sort of way where I've talked to them without falling all over myself and we sat down on the stoop to watch fireworks together. Tom and Clarence are fantastic musicians, just completely first class, and they are so much damn fun it's incredible.
There are songs on this album that make me want to jig and there are songs on this album that I used to listen to when I couldn't get to sleep. It's a wide range, but it's all beautiful, and if you even have one tiny ounce of Celtic blood pumping through your veins, this is guaranteed love-at-first-listen. Just ask

Harry and the Potters - Voldemort Can't Stop the Rock
Tee hee, oh Harry and the Potters. Yes, I've seen them in concert, too, and they are so adorable. They bribed the audience with gummy sharks and cookies to get us out of our seats, and then once we'd come up to the stage, they told us mwahah, you can't sit back down now! The boys are fantastic, and even though neither of them will ever win an award for best vocalist, the lyrics and the groovy tunes more than make up for any shortcomings they might have.
I don't really have much more to say about this one except: listen to the title song. Listen to that song and then get up and throw your arms in the air because you are empowered and ain't nobody gonna get you down anymore!

A Magical Christmas of Magic
This is the awesomest awesome to ever be awesome. Seriously, you have no idea. Some of the artists include: Harry and the Potters, Draco and the Malfoys, Dumbledore, Stubby Boardman, The Gringotts Goblin Choir, The Whomping Willows, Neville Longbottom, and Cousin Wizardface. Yeah, they're all awesome. And you know you want to download this right now.
And a Happy Thanksgiving to all those Americans on my Flist! GOBBLE GOBBLE.

Haha, I think I remember 3 fics/authors from when I read HP - Cassie, Maya (underwater lights or something like that) and ... uhm, Emma something. They all wrote loooong fics, so that's prolly why I remember. All else is erased from my brain ;P

I just got a torrent of Regina Spektor's complete discography, except the bonus tracks. *idea* Did you upload the bonus tracks? I'm taking to check. I would love to get a non-shitty-ass copy of "Uh-Merica." Ohhh Regina. I completely agree with everything you said about her. I was freaking out a little bit because I think I now have more Regina than my 1GB mp3 player can hold and then I was like "Oh, I'll just delete the ones I don't want." Which is none of them. Damn. */ramble*
