Ahh, it is early yet, but I do believe the wintertime ennui is upon us. Break out your light boxes and potassium-rich food products, guys! I love the snow and the cold way more than the stifling, sticky heat of summer, but the whole sun going down early, rising early thing? Yeah, no. Not really my favorite part of the season.

Speaking of, is it too early to ask you all for Christmas lists? It totally is, isn't it. I'm sorry, I never wanted to be the CVS of your flist, decking the halls cheerfully in the middle of August. No, seriously, have you been to CVS lately? Because the ones near me have out their dancing Santas already. My head hurts when I see them.

Oh, that reminds me. Have any of you been over to www.pasta.com? Because, oh my dear god, worst rendition of the Macarena ever. I think I nearly ruptured a lung trying to decide if I should burst into hysterical laughter or cry for my scarred soul.

Regarding Christmas lists, wait until after Halloween, preferably a week or more, so all of the stores can sell all of their candy and have an excuse to put out all of the Christmas stuff (even though there've been displays since early September in a bunch of stores).

Regarding the Macarena, what is this too you speak of? I was not doing the dance, not even in my mind. For I never learned the dance, and I have no desire to know it now (it makes for odd looks when it comes up, as it invariaably does. Like now, for instance. You are looking at me all askance-like. VOCAB WORD! I HAVE MADE IT MY OWN. TAKE THAT, MRS. RODRIGUES.).

There is already Christmas candy at the supermarket near my house. Little chocolate reindeer and candy canes in copious amounts! Hallowe'en hasn't even happened yet! It's making me feel a bit panicked about present shopping and the like, but yes, it's probably best to wait a bit until asking about lists. After Hallowe'en should be alright. :D
