While recovering from my brush with Joe Flanigan-induced death, I had a thought: most of you I barely know anything about, even fannishly. This thought saddened me. So! Copy and paste if you'd like (it's conveniently coded!), or feel free to go all crazy and build me a time line. Extra points awarded for squiggly fonts.

Ahaha, this sounds like a sex questionnaire, woops. (ETA: um, sorry about that coding glitch! Fixed now.) I'll start! Beware the tl;dr.

1. What was your first brush with fandom - TV, movie, book, anime, etc.? How old were you? Sailor Moon was my first fandom - shut up, I was, like, eleven.

2. How did you find fandom (as an internet entity)? It was kind of an accident. I was looking for pictures of Usagi and Mamorou to print out and paste on my notebooks (see: eleven), and I found a site that had a little button on the side. It said "fanfiction". Curiosity has always been a problem for me, so I clicked, and it's been all downhill since then.

3. Was livejournal your first fannish home? If not, how were you involved? God, this is so embarrassing, but I was on fanfiction.net and yahoo!groups and had a dinky little angelfire website on which I stored horrible drawings and truly terrible fanfic. You really have no idea how bad it was. I was thirteen and writing het sex - let that sink in for a minute.

4. How many fandoms have you been in since your first? If you can, list them. This is by no means a complete list, because I had a tendency to drift towards anything that struck my fancy before I hit Harry Potter a few years ago, but - Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, Digimon, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Card Captor Sakura, Harry Potter (Harry/Hermione), The Libertines, Lord of the Flies, Interview With a Vampire (ahahaha oh god), Popslash, Lord of the Rings, LotRips, Good Omens, Discworld, Harry Potter (slash), Pirates of the Carribean, CSI: Las Vegas, Supernatural/RPS, Kingdom Hearts, Torchwood, Panic at the Disco, Firefly, Stargate: Atlantis. Do you see now why I lack fannish shame?

5. If you participate in fandom actively (aka, you aren't a lurker), what's your role? Author, artist, beta, commenter, enabler, etc. I like to think I'm well-rounded, and by well-rounded I mean on crack. Mostly, though, I write fic and force people to do the same. Oh, and I flirt a lot.

6. If you're a slasher, what was your first slash pairing and why? Did you find slash first? I can actually trace it back to the exact moment. I was trolling through fiction alley, and I somehow found mistful's stories. It's possible I was on a Hermione/Draco kick at that point, because I found it so hilariously intriguing, and so I read her story Draco Malfoy, The Amazing Bouncing Rat. When I'd finished, I was so enamored of her and her writing style that I instantly clicked over to read the rest of the stories without checking the summaries or anything, and accidentally ended up reading one of the great epic Harry/Draco stories, Underwater Light. Insta-slasher! Oh, I was so wee. Little did I know the messes I'd get into. Awww.

1. What was your first brush with fandom - TV, movie, book, anime, etc.? How old were you? That I recall being fannish about and writing terrible Mary Sues in my head? Voltron. I think I was five. There were others (many, many, god I'm pathetic) but I didn't hit online community fandom until Buffy.

2. How did you find fandom (as an internet entity)?
I'd just had surgery, my back was out, and I was bored bored bored. So I did a search for Willow/Spike stories, or maybe just "Spike" and I found one, I'm not sure, but that's how it started. I never actually shipped them, either!

3. Was livejournal your first fannish home? If not, how were you involved? I was on mailing lists for maybe nine months before finding LJ. LJ better.

4. How many fandoms have you been in since your first? If you can, list them. Buffy/Angel (primarily Spike/Xander but I've written everybody, in every combination at some point), Harry Potter (Harry/Draco), Inuyasha (oddly, I was Inuyasha/Kagome, which was the straight up canon het romance)(mildly), SGA.

5. If you participate in fandom actively (aka, you aren't a lurker), what's your role? Author, artist, beta, commenter, enabler, etc.
Commenter, author, beta, person who begs people to do things for her...

6. If you're a slasher, what was your first slash pairing and why? Did you find slash first?
I found het first, although most of the 'het' was, um, pretty slashy, actually. I was a big Buffy/Spike shipper before s6, back when I thought there could be a partnership between them. I found slash through Spike/Xander maybe four months later. I even remember how, but that's possibly too much detail.

There's something very strange and wonderful about Inuyasha/Kagome, isn't there? Maybe it's all the pining. Or the fact that he has to sit whenever she tells him to. Er.

1. What was your first brush with fandom - TV, movie, book, anime, etc.? How old were you? Daria. Seriously. I was obsessed with this show. I was like... 10? 11?

2. How did you find fandom (as an internet entity)? SERIOUSLY, MY ANSWER IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS YOURS. I was like 'fanfiction? what's fanfiction?'. And yep, all went downhill from there. Funny enough though, that was also when I first encountered slash. And lol, I HATED it! I was like 'boys kissing? WHY?'. I very quickly understood the error of my ways, as you may have gathered. :D

3. Was livejournal your first fannish home? If not, how were you involved? Definitely not. I was running a fanart site, and I started making LJ icons just like I was making AIM icons or fanart, I wasn't putting that much thought into it. Eventually I started an icon journal to post them... and that sorta turned into a personal journal after I discovered the wonders of LJ fandom. :D

4. How many fandoms have you been in since your first? If you can, list them. Oh man, TOO MANY. You seriously want me to list them? Lol. Let's see: Daria, The West Wing, Hercules & Xena, Firefly, Dead Like Me, Oz, Alias, X-Men, The X-Files, Lost, Prison Break, Supernatural, Heroes, House, The Office, Arrested Development, CSI NY, Dexter, LotR, Vampire Chronicles, HARRY POTTER, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and most recent - The Mighty Boosh. I'm pretty sure I missed some. :D

5. If you participate in fandom actively (aka, you aren't a lurker), what's your role? Author, artist, beta, commenter, enabler, etc. Icon maker mostly.

6. If you're a slasher, what was your first slash pairing and why? Did you find slash first? I AM. A BIG FAT SLASHER. Lol, like I said, when I first saw slash I thought it was the STRANGEST thing. In all fairness, I was 11. Ummm, my first slash pairing was probably Hercules/Iolaus. Cause, you really can't watch this show and not slash those two.

Dude...we totally started with the same fandom! Although, I began mentally writing story lines to "fix" Sailor Moon as well as "Voltron."

1. What was your first brush with fandom - TV, movie, book, anime, etc.? How old were you? Sailor Moon, as I've said, and 11? 10? About that age.

2. How did you find fandom (as an internet entity)? Hmmm...I was looking for more pictures for inspiration (I was a big artist at the time) and found "A Sailor Moon Romance," which has a giant ass archive of stories.

3. Was livejournal your first fannish home? If not, how were you involved? After Sailor Moon (god, the shame that I feel typing this!) I found Buffy and fanfic.net. When that went down, I found fanfiction.net and found other (mostly geocities) personal websites.

4. How many fandoms have you been in since your first? If you can, list them. Sailor Moon, Voltron, Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel: The Series, Firefly/Serenity, Anita Blake, Harry Potter, Boondock Saints, CSI, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis...there are some others I'm missing as well....

5. If you participate in fandom actively (aka, you aren't a lurker), what's your role? Author, artist, beta, commenter, enabler, etc. I was a lurker until about a year ago when I joined livejournal and started commenting for reals. I'm hoping to get the courage to put some more of my stuff on lj but I've only written two small ficlets so far. And, I guess, my brief stint with Sailor Moon art originally.

6. If you're a slasher, what was your first slash pairing and why? Did you find slash first? The first time I liked it was with Gundam Wing fanfic and I was a Heero/Duo fan all the way. I think I found it at fanfic.net or fanfiction.net...I can't remember.
