I'm pretty useless on keeping up with fandom things that don't happen directly on my flist, so I'm not sure what's going on over at the squirrel forums about Shore Leave and what have you. Is there any talk of an LJ meet up? I keep seeing random people on my flist that I hadn't known were going at all talk about the con, and I'm kind of wondering how many fabulous people I'm going to miss out on purely because I never asked if they were coming.

Not entirely sure where we're going to be all weekend yet, but I think convincing DHew to come see the new Batman movie figured into it somehow? And, of course, some sort of watching party for the premiere(!!). Also not sure if we'll all descend upon a hotel room, or maybe take over some other place with a TV in the hotel..? I've never been to a con, okay, this is confusing.

Well, not to point fingers or anything, but stillane was supposed to get back to me about room sharing. (I poke in gentle fun.)

How head-splodey would it be if we could have DHew and the other SGA actors MST3King the ep? (I may, perhaps, be obsessive about trying to hang out with them. This will be the first non-Creation celeb con I've been to a loooooong time, and I'm looking forward to talking to these people without an implicit stopwatch, y'know?)

I'm equally looking forward to hanging with SGA fans (especially females) in a RL context, as all my local peeps are males and "eh" at most about the show.

So I just about had a freak-out last night because my mom was all "We've bought the tickets for San Diego, we'll be there July 9-14" -- turns out, either my brother's thing in San Diego was moved up or they had the wrong date. But they're going to transfer my ticket to something else and I'll be skipping San Diego for Shore Leave... and I'll have the house all to myself for two extra nights. XD I am so motherfucking excited about this, Mel. EEEEE.

Here is the brief Shoreleave run-down (well, what I know so far)--

I'm doing my pre-con tradition of eating at the Outback (hopefully) on Thursday evening and the invitation is wide open for any fellow fan who wants to join me.

The ADB screening is scheduled for Friday night, though the con doesn't know what time yet (hopefully early, around 8, so it can go straight into the SGA premiere)

I'm across the street, since the con hotel sold out WAY before the Hewletts and their awesomeness. However, it seems like a ton of us are in the same hotel, so that's cool :)


And...that's all I know so far...I think.

Ahh you don't know how perfectly well-timed this is! I was just sitting here, mulling over train fare and registration prices, and thinking "I have no clue what is going on"

I'd really really love to meet up, because I've never been to a con either, and the friend that I'm staying with doesn't know her work schedule yet. I would really hate to just wander around by my lonesome for the entire weekend :<
