Also, back in the beginning of the series, in Hot Zone, we saw Rodney as chief scientist being brisk and a little grouchy, but completely sincere in congratulating his underlings and telling them they did well. I think that's something people forget about Rodney - he's completely stunted when it comes to appreciating people, but he's always sincere when he manages it, and every time something happens to one of His People, you can see how much it affects him. He's sort of like a really disgruntled sheep herder who constantly complains about how smelly and annoying and inconvenient his sheep are, but will fight off wolves to protect them."

There was going to be an accompanying drabble, but I started laughing and couldn't stop. Aliens are stealing Rodney's sheep! No one believes him! Except, of course, for the handsome, eccentrically-haired cop with a shady past who's assigned to Rodney's case. Cue sex in the back of a pick up truck during a stake out! (Someone who is not me clearly needs to write this.)

Despite many traveling glitches - one of which included being stuck in Penn Station at two in the morning with no train until four - and a really shaky start, I had a pretty fabulous Saturday. Went to the Met museum with summertea, sesame_seed, and emblem; proceeded to wander around making inappropriate comments about Cupid, dead people, and George Washington - possibly not in that order. Then we all trundled over to pick up rageprufrock and ileliberte (after a quick scooch downtown for cream puffs), and went to have awesome, awesome pizza. Much talk of buttsecks and Snapes On An Astral Plane ensued at maximum volume. I love fangirls. ♥
