I'm kinda bored. And by that I mean 'not willing to write another goddamn word on this freaking story'. So, uh, I'm taking requests again. Drabblets, a picture you've wanted iconned for a while, a song you think I might have, etc. Hit me, babies.

OR, you could be awesome and fic at me. Just sayin'. Nudge, hint, nudge. Oh, and a tidbit of the beast?

The old lady at the front desk turns out to be the owner, named Holly. She serves them Yankee pot roast out of old dishes, chattering cheerfully at them until she finds a topic they can all agree on. The meat is tender, full of flavor, and the gravy is rich enough that Dean spoons it all over his plate, corn included. Sam comments on how that sort of defeats the point of vegetables, and to Dean’s surprise, Holly berates Sam.

“There are carrots and greens in that gravy,” she says sternly. “Your boy looks fit enough already, let him put some meat on his bones.”

Through the rest of the dinner, Dean seems to fluctuate between being mortified at Holly calling him ‘fit’ and being smug that he’s allowed to eat gravy.

Hah. Yeah. God save me, five thousand words and going strong. I think I might cry.

Hahahahahaha, I totally don't feel like a such a loser now that all of you are admitting to liking the interspecies lovin'. Tell me, did it make you randy, baby, did it? Snail ooze is so the new facial. Right? Am I right?

I think I have a fever, you should probably ignore me. I hope this blows over, like, today, because there is no way I'm canceling my trip to see Debbie. No Freaking Way. You hear that, world? You can feck off, because I am going to see Debbie. *is grouchy and stubborn* *chugs orange juice*

Three posts in one day, woo! \o/

  • My internet is sucking like Sam right now. Sorry, kids I was talking to on AIM, I do love you!! :(

  • This icon makes me die a little. In my pants. Oh, Jenny, how you be so hotass?

  • I'm watching the history of sex on The History Channel right now and it is awesome, awesome, awesome. I adore Ancient Rome to a ridiculous degree. I kind of wish there were more stable things to do with a Classics degree besides teach, because I would be all over that. Anyone else with me on this? Am I just a complete geek?

  • [livejournal.com profile] schneestern? I'm so sorry it's taking me forever to get back to you about the cheese. We will finish this thread, I promise!

  • So, yeah. What's your favorite ancient civilization? This is also a really geekish thing, but indulge me. Do you like Rome, Greece, Egypt, China, India, etc? What? And, well, of course explaining why would be nice, too. And, while we're at it, what's your take on Western vs. Eastern thought in regards to religion, women, social responsibility, and class? I'm curious.

  • I am so grateful for every comment I get that sometimes I squeal just at the sight of my inbox. Seriously, you all are pretty damn fabulous. Just. *pokes internet* Curses.

  • No, really. No one else has a thing for snakes? Really?

Last night [livejournal.com profile] mikhale asked me if I had any Fiona Apple reccomendations. Poor thing didn't know what he was getting in to, and, needless to say, I went a little overboard. I had to post in two comments to beat lj's annoying character limit. And, well, y'all know I'm good for a little music spam, when it comes down to it all, so, here's all the Fiona I pulled together. ) And some extra songs that I've just recently re-found or fallen in love with, for your listening pleasure:

-Hellogoodbye - Oh, It is Love
The first time I listened to this song, I was a little dubious, I'll admit it. It sounds a little too sappy and cheesy going in, but really, it's so sweet and perfect it's sort of become my schmoopy j-squared anthem.

-Radiohead - Talkshow Host
THIS IS ME FREAKING OUT OVER THIS SONG. For the longest time, I would watch the first scene in Romeo + Juliet with Leo in it and swoon over the music - it's just gorgeously heavy and slow. And then, I downloaded the mix to go with [livejournal.com profile] hansbekhart's fic, "Beach Blanket Poltergeist" and there it was! Praise god.

-Mirah - Engine Heart
Everything Mirah does is sweetly gorgeous, and this song is absolutely no exception. I don't know what kind of guitar she uses here - or even if it's a guitar, it might be a ukulele - but it gives the entire song a very calm, tropical sound.

-Mama Cass Elliot - California Earthquake
I love her voice, I love her voice, I love her voice. And, also, this entire song just makes me want to watch Scooby Doo for days. Is that SO WRONG?

-Imogen Heap - Whatever
Why had I never heard of Imogen Heap before two months ago? That's ridiculous, is what it is, and I need more, because everything about this song is so fabulous and groovy I keep skipping back on my shuffle to listen to it over and over again.

-The Flys - Got You (Where I Want You)
For some reason, this song just conjures up in my mind the Breakfast Club. I know it definitely wasn't in that movie, duh, but the whole feel of it, the way the guitar line and the bass line move together - it's very movie soundtrack.

-Bjork - Pagan Poetry
Just like anything else Bjork does, this is very ethereal, and beautiful in a way that kind of sneaks up on you. Her voice is so delicate, too, which really makes the mood of this song.

-The Toadies - I Come From the Water
I love the guitars here, holy crap. I have such a ridiculously huge thing about guitars that sound menacing or growly - and, boy, does this song deliver on the growly side of things. Can guitars really be growly? I don't care, these are.

-Queen - You're My Best Friend
It's Queen. Do I actually have to explain myself here? Plus, eee, Crowley playing this while Aziraphale is in the car! It makes my heart warm.

-The Zutons - Dirty Dancehall
The sax in this just makes my toes curl, omg. Everytime I hear it, I squeal and start babbling at Debbie about how fantastic it is, and I'm sure she's getting tired of it. But it's just so fun and moody and danceable! I can't help it!

-The Donnie Darko Sountrack - Time Travel
Ok, so this is actually entirely instrumental, but don't let that stop you! It's evocative, and, um, actually, this is the song that was playing when I started writing Sleight of Hand. I blame it entirely.

Now, this post is certainly long enough, but I also had a thought and now it won't leave me alone, so. I know I have a couple fandom crushes - both not-so-secret and very-secret - but what about you all? Is there someone in fandom that you're starry-eyed over?
unamaga: (smiles like the sunrise)
I know a couple of you guys have had a rough week of it. I wish I could make everything better, but since I don't own a cape and tights, a picspam will have to suffice for the time being. My suit is totally in the mail, give it a few weeks.

So, here's a series of pictures which are pretty much guaranteed to make you grin and feel fuzzy. Hope it helps! ♥

See? Don't you feel better now? :D

How much do I want this skirt? So much. How much could I pull it off? Not at all

And, dude, my personal style was so in during the beginning of the summer! I knew I should have stocked up on skirts and shirts. But, noooo, I had to be a cheap bastard and now there are only ugly things to be bought. Roar.

unamaga: (i want to be that pen)
For [profile] polyspaston. Sorry this took so long; livejournal is kind of a bitch.

In Honor of my not dying, I give you a spammy picture post!
