unamaga: (*smooch*)

Happy Valentine's Day, flist! I know not everyone cares, but I love any excuse to smother people with hugs and post pictures of adorable sleepy animals. *opens arms* C'mere, you.
unamaga: (oh honestly)
Right now my house is like Grand Central Station. Where do all of these people come from? It's like half the population of New York State has cycled through in the past half hour. This is especially annoying because I can't use the kitchen during the open house, which means I haven't yet eaten, which means I haven't yet taken my pills, which means I am miserable and my head and chest hurt and I can't get the terrible taste of the nasal spray out of my mouth. PITY ME.

But, really, at least now I've been properly diagnosed (bronchitis and a sinus infection, what), at least there's a chance of being one hundred percent before, um, August. I'm excited! Let's have a hug'n'love fest, because I need it like woah.

*surprise flist smish!*

My headset was summarily destroyed the other day by a rampaging beast (aka me during a frantic search for my camera card) which is hugely upsetting since I was planning on recording a hello message for you all and I can't for the life of me figure out how to work the voice post whosamajigs. Alas, you've been spared my hilariously idiotic ramblings about David Hewlett and dresses and cookies - not that the three are related in any way - for another week. Rest easy while you can because soon your time will come and, lo, it will be epic. Seriously, just ask [livejournal.com profile] schneestern. The first time we talked on Skype together I ended up pontificating on the significance of ladybug stickers for ten minutes. I don't even know how. Something about the number of spots being a metaphor for Love Sweet Love? Yeah.

Top three songs making Mel happy at the moment:
1. [Patrick Wolf - Careless Talk] Like me reccing a Patrick Wolf song is a huge surprise. But, okay, this is so adorable and jazzy and so unlike his normal songs, and I maybe really want him to be my boyfriend. Don't judge me.
2. [Tiger! Shit! Tiger! Tiger! - Insert Disco Beat Here] Courtesy the lovely [livejournal.com profile] chickyoops. Definitely not for everyone, but it's funky and hilarious and weird and I can barely understand a word the singer's saying, which means that of course it's right up my alley. Also, hello, their name.
3. [Beirut - Postcards From Italy] The perfect summer song, all sweetness and nostalgia and light, like the memory of sun warming your toes on a balmy afternoon.

Now you! What's making you happy today, flist? *group smoosh*

(PS, Don't let any of the actual content fool you, this is totally a gratuitous icon post. Nghjfaoigm JFlans, how are you so sexass. Please to be never stopping. Do it for us, the fans.)
unamaga: (TOO MUCH CUTE)
I'm okay! The doctor managed to squeeze me in on short notice, so I am now in possession of a ten day supply of sulfamethoxazole/tmp antibiotics (how you say that is a mystery to me) and a box of uristat, and am on my way to chowing down on gnocchi and garlic bread for lunch. Thank you so much to all of you who held my hand this morning; it helped a lot when I was, admittedly, freaking out kind of a lot. <333

Since this week seems to be hitting a bunch of us with all it's got, I hereby declare this post to be fuzzy animal central. I'll start.

Kissing! On the nose!

Your turn! Bring on the fluffy llamas and the adorable puppies and the omnomnom-ing bunnies. Pictures are great, videos are fabulous, and stories are, as always, highly encouraged. ETA: [livejournal.com profile] chopchica and I have accidentally been awesome at the same time; go over and watch the two adorable videos she links to in her post here. PUPPY GNAWING.
