I have emerged from my first module unscathed! In fact, I am now the proud owner of two A's, a cracking waffle recipe, all of my limbs and phalanges, and a super fabulous girlfriend with whom I'm going on a fancifully romantic road trip on Friday. \o/ Laaaa! If I knew how to jig, man, I'd be all over that shit, but since I can't, I'm just gonna wiggle my hips a little and call it a day.

Picture! )

\o/ \o/ \o/

I could just victory arms all over this damn post, you guys. :D

In more internet-related news, I've finally found my flist again and started slogging through the bajillion and three posts I've been gone for. I missed you all so much! I felt so shallow and out of touch without LJ to turn to! Everyone's okay, right? I haven't gotten back that far yet, but I want to be spoiled if this is a sad fic and someone's gone or doing badly. Talk to meeeee.
unamaga: (you i love it's you)
I present to you a McShep photo essay in six parts. May it bring you grate lulz.

Part One: The Come On )
unamaga: (so not a morning person)
No, seriously, I do. And tons more respect for anyone who has ever played guitar, even if they did it really, really badly. God. I can't even hold down C for more than a few minutes without being in mondo amounts of pain. My hands! They are way too dainty for this! But, of the good, my sister's boyfriend taught me how to do those really gorgeous harmonic chords from August Rush, and I figured out all on my own how to pluck out parts of Habenera: I am now a happy clam.

Once I look less like I'm just randomly pawing at the strings in the futile hope that somehow I will make a pretty sound, I will possibly even attempt to take a picture. That's how excited I am, okay.

Anyway. I know I'm massively behind on comments and, like, everything ever. Please do not hit me with a rolling pin. :(

The house is all mine from Sunday to Wednesday, so I plan to take advantage of the abandoned living room and spend a lot of time writing. And, yes, I keep saying I'm almost done with the fics I'm writing, and then I go back and reread them and something vital in my head goes gllllllllrk and stops working. So, uh, it's slow-going. Hopefully! Hopefully the quiet will allow me to get past the part of the thigh holster fic wherein John slams Rodney against a wall.

Speaking of unutterably hot things:

Good morning, flist.
unamaga: (do i smell...fandom idiocy? oh crap)
[livejournal.com profile] kashmir1 and I watched Scanners 2 last night - no, I don't know why either. Except, wait! I do! Damn you, DHew.

It was a pretty gross movie, and I could have seriously done without all the bubbling flesh and...things, but at least there were a few high points. AKA David Hewlett. [livejournal.com profile] trinityofone's puppy ficlet means so much more to me now. The relevant bits of the movie (or, well, what I consider relevant anyway, meaning: kissing, puppies, and telekinetic sex) are uploaded here and here, both .mp4 files. Prepare yourself for young David's high, adorable voice, huge blue eyes, and, yes, feathered hair. Also:

On a related note, it has been brought to my attention by concerned parties that I make way more Joe icons than David icons. And that this makes David a sad panda. So! A small batch of David icons with the promise of more if anyone has caps they'd like done. Nudge nudge, help me out here?

Sixteen DHew icons from various movies and tv shows, including Traders and Scanners )

  1. When you see this, post a quote from Doctor Who on your LJ.
Sir Robert: I'm sorry, Mum. It's all my fault. I should've sent you away. I tried to suggest something was wrong. I thought you might notice. Did you think there was nothing strange about my household staff?
The Doctor: Well, they were bald, athletic... your wife's away. I just thought you were happy.
First time I saw Tooth and Claw, I choked on my soda and nearly sprayed the keyboard. True story.

  2. Why being friends with me is totally a mistake, Vol XIV, Part Twelve. )

    [Poll #1209825]

ETA: Songs in question two are downloadable! Click away, darlings!
unamaga: (chestular area)
  • [livejournal.com profile] chickyoops just sent me this song - The Wave Pictures - Kiss Me - and, you guys, it alludes to my favorite Emily Dickenson poem ever and The Beatles almost simultaneously. Plus, it's totally funky. I don't even know what to do with myself. This is unprecedented.

  • The housing saga continues. Apparently my sister and her boyfriend are thinking of moving to Daytona together so he can teach at a flight school, which is just. Argh. And where does that leave me? I have no idea, but I suspect a box on the corner, stealing wireless from the library and skipping meals to pay for SGA box sets. Upside, I have successfully cleaned my room from top to bottom, and it almost looks presentable! I'm not excited to have a bunch of strangers running around in there while I'm not allowed in my own home for four hours, but what can you do. I've hidden all the racy stuff in a lock box, and that's really as good as it's gonna get, I guess.

  • Does anyone know anything about this place? As in: is it legit, does it have a good reputation, will I be completely fucked in the ear if I give them money, etc.? Some of the classes sound really interesting, and if they're good, it would be an awesome thing to do when I have some spare time.

  • A list of things wot have brought me cheer the past couple of days, in case any of you who need cheer also have missed them: forced team hugs!; adorable smooching visual!; languid grass kisses!; pig tail pulling!; aliens indirectly make them do it! And, okay, just the whole of [livejournal.com profile] mcsmooch. It's like one giant Get Well Soon card - with porn! <3

Hot Zone was on Sci-Fi today (which, by the way, I no longer get on my regular TV? Holy crap?) and guess what, John Sheppard is smolderingly hot in an orange hazmat suit. Seriously, his mouth is out of control here, and it is way too humid out to contemplate how good it would look wrapped a certain part of Rodney's anatomy.

John Sheppard: skirting the 'safe for work' line since 2004 )
unamaga: (non-conforming as can be)
John Sheppard is at LEAST this flexible, okay. (NWS) )

EDIT: So, I'm gonna turn this into an impromptu ficathon, since people are ALREADY participating and that is FABULOUS. The rest of this week, no limits - art, fic, whatever you want, just as long as it's some good old fashioned porning based somehow on these pictures. You can obviously keep going if you're inspired but can't finish your project out by next Sunday, but I'll be putting together a master list of everything that's in by then. Look at me, being optimistic about participation! \o/

unamaga: (*falls over*)
Thank you, Atlantica screencaps, you have made my entire life. Not even kidding, guys, just. John freaking Sheppard. ) DISCUSS.
unamaga: (*peek*)
Just in case you didn't already know, David Hewlett is ridiculous. And when I say ridiculous, I mean he sometimes pretends he's a monkey. Not even joking. Julie sent me Where the Heart Is and, in between winces of embarrassment (oh god, I am so not looking forward to the day when the late 80's fashions are back in) and the winces of absolute mortification (OH, Uma Thurman! Why!), were these precious moments. )

I haven't finished watching yet - the heavy price of contact embarrassment is being forced to stop every five minutes - but I'm confident that DHew will continue to surprise and amaze me. I hear later on he has a ponytail.
unamaga: (fall down go boom)
I think I'm going to call this picspam "Things Which Are Particularly Awesome Or Hilarious" and dedicate it to people who like taking it up the ass. That means you, John Sheppard. )

Feel free to comment with your own pictures or captions! Or, you know, you can talk about how exactly John likes to take it up the ass, I won't stop you. I'm thinking bent over the kitchen counter with his hands braced on their brand spanking new backsplash tiles, Y/N?
unamaga: (such a beautiful day)
Do you ever get hit with a sudden wave of overwhelming bitterness towards someone? Just - boom - right out of left field as you're pulling on a sock or scratching your elbow? God, that is the worst feeling in the world. So, you know, instead of wallowing and growing even more bitter for no apparent reason, let's talk about John Sheppard's face.

It's a nice face, says Rodney.

ps, don't forget about [livejournal.com profile] villainny's awesome v-day post over here.
unamaga: (funny valentine)
I'm determined that Helluary this year will not actually be Hell. Last year was a fluke! A really horrible, rotten, no good, sob-inducing fluke! So, as a kind of talisman against further fluke-age, I am going to pack as much awesome into this post as I possibly can. Are you ready? Okay!

SGA fic recs! ) - Music! ) - Other links! ) - A poll! ) - A kitten! )

And just because I can...

unamaga: (glad to see me)
As part of my (very premature) spring cleaning jag, I'm going through some old fic posts and replying to feedback I missed, so pay no mind if suddenly I am in your inbox saying something completely irrelevant. Instead, let me turn your attention to this screencap, which I am particularly fond of and have added a helpful map to. You know. Just in case your mind wasn't following the same path as mine. ) Discuss.
unamaga: (nice kissing)
Dear David Hewlett,

You just don't know when to quit, do you. [livejournal.com profile] kashmir1 and I? You killed us, David. You killed us with your big, pretty eyes, and your lush, full mouth, and your famously heart-shaped ass, and the curve of your fucking jaw when you're looking off into the distance. Not to mention that one time you had a beard and didn't warn us first; or when you looked at that girl in Pin like you were about to sear her clothes off with your gaze alone; or, okay, the high socks. We have no defenses against that, David, it's really not fair.

Oh, and then there was the time you made out with another dude and ruined us for all mankind. Yeah. Remember that, David? We do. And we still haven't recovered, you incredible bastard.

Fuck you very much,
Those Twitching Bodies Over There Next To The Sofa
Dear Track Star AU Boys,

I approve of all the kissing. And groping. And hickey-giving. Carry on.

Yours in snogs,
[livejournal.com profile] kashmir1: *hands you a paper bag*
[livejournal.com profile] unamaga: We should write in complaints to the scifi network.

"Dear Sir or Madam,

As great fans of your hit series, Stargate: Atlantis, we regret to inform you that one of your leads has decided that manslaughter fits his bill better than acting. David Hewlett, by dint of being extremely attractive, extremely awesome, and extremely humorous (we have not yet measured to see if these parts are equal, or if one takes precedent over the others, but we are confident in saying that all three play a large part in his "killer" charm), has unceasingly attempted to murder us where we sit each Friday night at ten o'clock. This may indeed be quite a lot to take in, but we believe that we have come up with a handsome solution that will fulfill everyone's needs:

Hopefully you will be able to commit to these terms. The consequences should you choose to ignore this letter are quite dire, and we would not recommend that you gamble with the lives of your fans.

Thank you for your time and your (eventual) cooperation.

The Fangirls"

[livejournal.com profile] kashmir1: P.S. if you could combine points 1 and 2, that'd be great. kthxbai.

Based on a true story, yo. Also, I think I've had too much nyquil.

Jared has a weird habit of wandering around between takes, singing commercial jingles to himself. Some of his selections date back as far as the early nineties, which baffles Jensen to no end – how Jared gets these things stuck in his head is a mystery. At least he’s not as tone deaf as Kim turns out to be when he tries to chime in during the Goldfish song.

For a man who looks so remarkably like Tom Petty, Kim completely lacks musical talent. He sounds sort of like a dying elk.

“Oh dear god, my ears,” Jensen groans, and wishes for death.

“I can eat them eeev’ry day, and mom says thaaat’s okay,” Jared continues, oblivious to everything around him except for the two little goldfishes he’s dancing across his script. “Come on, Finn! Do the fish boogie,” he has one of the fish say to the other. Finn starts to wiggle around in an odd way that Jared clearly seems to think is ‘busting a move’.

Kim cheers them on, "Go Finn, go Finn, go Finn, it's your birthday."

Jensen desperately feels around inside his bag for something to distract him from the horrifying spectacle, and comes upon his game boy. Before long, he’s tilting in his seat for a better angle and cursing at the screen. “Fuck you, Pikachu, I totally have an Onix! Yeah, take it! Take it, bitch!”

“What the hell. You are all insane,” says their newest guest star, looking frightened.
unamaga: (ANGRY MUFFIN >:O)
I have no voice. Like, at all. My father asked me when I woke up this morning if I wanted a bagel and I opened my mouth: "hhhhh." I didn't even get to go to an awesome concert and scream my throat raw! I just got sick. Why, life, why! Cruel bitch!

Right now, this picture is my happy place. It is making my voiceless-ness seem less horrible. Oh, and this one too. What's your happy place tonight, lovelies?

ps, hot dogs. they're serious bizzness. do you put ketchup on them or mustard? MATTER OF IMPORT.
unamaga: (holy crepe!)
I am a big scaredy cat, and after talking to someone on AIM, I deleted the last entry with that fic on it. PLZ TO BE IGNORING THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN. I sometimes forget that not everyone in the world is as completely messed up as I am, and then it hits me two hours later - "oh, holy shit." Yeah. So.

LOOK, a distracting picture! )

...Discuss. :D
unamaga: (orly now)
[Poll #933512]

Happy Friday, y'all. Have a macro! ) What are your plans for this weekend, then? I think you should bake cookies. With chocolate chips in 'em and milk to go along. And then give them to me so I can eat them. Yus. *munches forlornly on cheez-its*
unamaga: (ianto's got a gun)
*swirls toe through dirt* Maybe I've been surfing around the Torchwood fandom. And maybe I also know a certain little birdy that has been pining for some Jack/Ianto. So, I give you a links list - not all slash, dearies - including a few really fantastic icon posts, some communities, a couple of amusing bits and bobs, and lots of Torchwood lovin'.

Of course, bananas are far more interesting. )

I'll probably end up sticking this in my memories and updating it with recs, new communities, and things as they come around. I have a feeling Torchwood fandom is sort of going to go boom after the season finale, so here's hoping!

ps, is there a striking resemblance between these two? am i going crazy?
